Abstract

The people of Kosovo during the Second World War made a great contribution to the liberation of Kosovo, in the fight against fascist and Nazi occupiers. This contribution is documented by the military brigades created in Kosovo, the number of victims, wounded, damages and destruction in general. The Albanian people of Kosovo joined the other people of Yugoslavia, with the idea and promises from the senior communist leaders for self-determination and free declaration for the political future of Kosovo. Enticing promises after the end of the war turned into political violence, liquidations of Albanian nationalists, economic pressures and instigation of mass migrations of Albanians to Turkey. In this paper, referring to archival sources and relevant publications on this topic, will be treated analytically some characteristic forms and methods that were applied by the Serbian political nomenclature and Yugoslav state bodies on the Albanian population of Kosovo in the first post-war period.
