The act of independence and the censorship made by the regimes towards it in the course of the last century

Abstract

For over a century Albania has tried different political regimes, some of which were based on a discriminating ideology of exclusion and the tendency to create a social and ideological rating system about the founding fathers of the state. In contrast to the good practices of other countries, Albania hasn't yet had an official historic accepted document that recognizes and appreciates the contributions made by the founders of the state. The practice of censoring of certain founding personalities for political, ideological, religious or regional reasons expresses in itself the discriminatory nature of some of the regimes that have been applied during the first century of statehood. The study analyzes the political and institutional behavior of each regime towards the most famous personalities of independence; it brings facts and data on the difference of the evaluation of different systems for the same individuals, founders of the state. It argues that many of our state's historical facts are evaluated and continue to be evaluated on the basis of relationships that are created by regimes and daily policies and not on a uniform professional criteria based on their daily life and the on the historical moments of the events. It addresses the factual historical creation of the state, the creation of the first state institutions and the subsequent report of the political career of the protagonists, with the intention of establishing a state and national memory imposed over the excluding recollections of the political parties of the Albanian state.
