Abstract

Gjatë historisë shtetet kanë bërë ndryshime ristrukturuese për të përmbushur kërkesat e kohës, por edhe për ta ruajtur ekzistencën e tyre. Edhe për Perandorinë Osmane lëvizjet ristrukturuese ishin të pashmangshme, veçanërisht gjatë shekullit të 19. Prandaj, historiografia botërore i ka dhënë një vend të rëndësishëm ndriçimit të nismave moder- nizuese të Perandorisë Osmane. Përmes këtij punimi synojmë të trajtojmë pikëpamjet kryesore të historiografisë botërore për fillimet e reformave të Tanzimatit në Perandorinë Osmane. Përkatësisht, punimi fokusohet në për- pjekjet e para për riorganizimin dhe modernizimin e Perandorisë, duke filluar nga reformat e Sulltan Selimit III dhe Sulltan Mahmutit II përgjatë viteve 1789-1839. Këta dy sulltanë novatorë duke përfituar më shumë nga ekspertët perëndimorë, reformuan Perandorinë Osmane dukshëm më shumë se para- ardhësit e tyre. Nëpërmjet këtij punimi, ndër të tjera, do të njohim vlerësimin e historianëve botërorë për reformat e modernizimit në Portën e Lartë. Rrje- dhimisht, nëpërmjet njohjes së këtyre reformave, do të kuptojmë më mirë ngjarjet e 1839-s, vit në të cilin edhe u shpall dekreti i Tanzimatit.
