Ernest Koliqi: "The Symphony of Eagles"
Ernest Koliqi: "Simfonia e shqiponjave"
Abstrakti
Whether as a novelist, pamphletist, scholar or poet, Ernest Koliqi’s (1903- 1975) contribution to Albanian letters remains unique: in prolificacy un matched, in literary versatility and originality second only to the greatest Albanian writers: Father Gjergj Fishta (1871-1940), Bishop Fan Noli (1882-1965) and Faik Konica (1895-1942).
Koliqi’s literary career began at an early age. In 1921, he participated in a literary contest, sponsored by the Albanian Ministry of Culture, and won the first prize. However instead of giving rise to exuberance, this honor induced the eighteen year old to reflect seriously upon the condition of Albanian letters and he embarked on a long literary journey.
