Abstrakti

Ernest Koliqi was born in 1903 in Shkodër, Albania, where he attended the elementary school.
In 1918, his parents sent him to the college “Cesare Arici” in Brescia, Italy, where he attracted the attention of the poet and classical critic J. Fr. Giovanni Costetti, whose classical literary influence on the talented youngster remained throughout his life. Later in that year, he enrolled at the Bergamo College and founded the students weekly magazine Noi Giovani (We, the Youngsters), where he published his first poems.
