Increasing the use and effectiveness of ICT in education is a clear priority of the Albanian government. The Strategy for the Development of Pre-University Education (SZHAPU) 2014-2020 aims to increase funds for strengthening and improving digitalization in the learning process. Despite important ICT policy strategies in education, there are still many challenges. Policies and action must find the right balance between the implementation of the main educational goals and their adaptation to the needs of schools and regions. Internet access in primary and secondary schools in Albania remains a challenge, however, the growing use of ICT in education is recognized as a priority to enhance the quality and importance of education, effective teaching, and to provide more information and services to communities and marginalized groups. This paper sheds light on current issues of ICT use in education, focusing on facts and discussions. Once an overview of the current situation is given, conclusions are drawn, and proper recommendations are given. Based on the facts presented, four general issues of educational policy arise, which require further elaboration and political attention. Keywords:
