Abstract

The Albanian language, from its earliest history to the present day, remains unique with strong cultural and national significance. Its structure and richness have long attracted the attention of both Albanian and foreign linguists. In modern times, especially in public and media communication, the proper use and preservation of the language has become increasingly important. This study analyzes the use of Albanian in news editions broadcast by two television stations in North Macedonia: Radio-Television Macedonia (RTM) and Alsat M. Using deductive and comparative methods, the study evaluates linguistic accuracy in news writing, headlines, and the presence of unnecessary foreign terms. Although one station is public and the other private, both face the challenge of maintaining standard Albanian in informative content. The findings reveal efforts toward correct usage but also show frequent deviations from the literary norm and the influence of non-Albanian vocabulary. The study highlights the ongoing need for linguistic improvement and greater language awareness in Albanian-language journalism
