Abstract

Shoqata Amerikane e Ortodonteve(1969) e perkufizoi Ortodoncine si ate pjese te artit dhe shkences se ortodoncise qe merret me njohjen dhe eleminimin e keqpozicionimeve dhe parregullsive ne zhvil-limin e kompleksit dentofacial. Shume probleme ortodontike duhen trajtuar ne moshe te vogel per te parandaluar nevojen e procedurave komplekse dhe te shtrenjta ne te ardhmen. Malokluzioni mund te percaktohet si kompleks I alterimeve skeletrike,muskulare dhe dentare qe ndryshojne nga ato qe teorikisht konsiderohen parametrat e nje okluzioni normal. Klasa II jane nje nder anomalite me te shpeshta me nje prevalence qe shkon nga 15%- 30% ne pjesen me te madhe te popullatave.Ky lloj malokluzioni ka me shume shanse te jape efekte negative estetike,psikologjike dhe sociale.Kjo lloj anomalie dento-faciale mund te ndahet ne dy kategori te ndryshme bazuar ne harkaden e perfshire me exces maksilar ose deficence mandibulare. Njesoj si malokluzionet e llojeve te tjera,etiologjia e Klasave II eshte e lidhur me faktor mjedisor dhe trashegimine. Malokluzionet e klasave II ndahen ne Malokluzioni II ndarja I dhe malokluzioni II ndarja II.
