Abstract

The focus of this research is to provide data on the practical implementation of the overall management approach in public and private preschool institutions, with particular emphasis on internal supervision of the methodological and pedagogical aspects of educators' work by the leaders of preschool institutions.

The study was conducted using a qualitative method, and through both theoretical and empirical approaches, it addresses aspects of the management processes in preschool institutions. The research sample consists of 10 directors from public preschool institutions and 5 directors from private institutions.

Within these issues, this study aims to provide theoretical arguments from various expert perspectives regarding the role of the institution's leader in ensuring quality service for preschool children. Additionally, it seeks to present field evidence on the extent to which preschool institution directors are committed to supervising and mentoring the professional performance of educators, their pedagogical and didactic approaches, during daily practice with children.

A semi-structured interview was used as the research instrument with respondents who are leaders of preschool institutions. Furthermore, observations were conducted on the documentation materials related to the managerial processes of preschool institutions. Based on the data analysis, results, conclusions, and recommendations were drawn, indicating that public and private preschool institutions (based on the representation of 15 directors from these institutions) lack both internal and external pedagogical supervision. Consequently, recommendations have been formulated for policymakers and directors of institutions, aiming to be considered by relevant stakeholders in this level of education.
