Abstract

The opportunities offered by e-learning are increasingly present in research related to learning in specific disciplines, highlighting new aspects in teaching-learning process. The knowledge depends on communication and is closely related to the process of its representation and mediation. In this context, the changing role of communication is of importance in the epistemological, pedagogical and didactic aspects related to e-learning. This paper will serve as a theoretical framework for the coordination of semiotic systems of great importance in the mathematical education and we will focus on the cognitive, metacognitive and non-cognitive aspects. The goal of this paper is to highlight the potential of e-learning platforms (teaching and learning environments) concerning the advantages and limitations of their didactic resources, faced with aspects of mathematical education in the cognitive view and increasingly in the affective and emotional one.
