Abstract

Young people aged 15-24 are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection and remaining at the center of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Despite the progress made over the last decade, 46% of new HIV infections are among 15–24 year olds, and two of the seven new HIV infections globally, in 2019 were among 15-24 year. Lack of knowledge, unwanted attitudes, and dangerous practices among young people, are among the main obstacles to prevent the transmission of HIV and the spread of this epidemic.
