Abstract

This work examines the history and evolution of orthodontics, with a particular focus on removable orthodontic appliances (ROA). The aim of this study is to analyze the development of orthodontics and assess the impact of technological advancements on orthodontic treatments. The methodology includes a review of existing literature and the examination of several orthodontic cases. The main findings indicate that the history of orthodontics is rich and complex, beginning with the use of simple mechanisms in antiquity and progressing to modern developments such as Invisalign. Furthermore, this paper discusses three cases of orthodontic treatment, emphasizing the importance of systematic and individualized approaches. The first case demonstrates the improvement in tooth positioning with a removable appliance. The second case highlights the need for routine check-ups, while the third case illustrates the positive impact on aesthetics and function. Patient engagement is essential for optimal outcomes. The use of removable appliances has significantly enhanced the quality of orthodon-tic services, providing effective and aesthetic solutions for patients, particularly children. Conclusions suggest that technological advancements and the increasing demand for professional services will continue to shape the future of orthodontics, offering innovative opportunities for addressing dental issues. This will contribute to improving oral health and aesthetics for patients on a global scale.
