Abstract

It is well known that oxysterols, cholesterol oxidized products, play a fundamental role in the regulation of various biological processes, as well as in the development of many diseases. Recently, researchers that share different type of expertise in various aspects of biochemistry and biomedicine, have joined forces in order to explore oxysterols’ beneficial effects. This is a review of some of the findings in the field, based on the recent publications.

Keywords:

oxysterols, physiological functions, therapeutic strategies.
