Abstract

Kosovo has started the implementation of the evaluation system graduates with Matura exam from 2006. This process has raised debates, controversy and concerns about the quality of the Matura reform and reliability of its results, due to numerous irregularities, various forms of fraud or cheating. They were published few reports and analysis of the results process and progress of the graduation exam administration, as well as the voice of the students who are attacked by this evaluation system. Research was conducted with a sample of 711 graduates who have passed the Matura in June 2018 and applied for enrollment in the various academic units at public universities in Kosovo. The aim of the research was to present the opinion of the graduates regarding the overall level of their satisfaction with the practice of the state graduation exam, influencing factors, and the requirements of their orientations to improve the quality of the graduation exam. The results show that the overall opinion of the graduates this year about the practice of passing the state Matura exam is positive, largely shaped by their results and achievements in the state matura exam and not by the quality of the process. Requires a culture of work, commitment, responsibility and institutional accountability to improve the quality of teaching so that students can be maximally supported in achieving learning outcomes, receive appropriate preparation for the state Matura exam, also are required concrete actions to prevent all irregularities, fraud and cheating the state graduation exam and in other evaluations organized by schools and MEST. The recommendations of this study has for base these requirements.
