Ethnic and Religious Cleansing of Albanians 1879-1999 (The Case of Kosova in Particular)

Abstract

There are centuries of hate and blood feud between Slavs and Albanians. We have seen them always as intruders and robbers. They saw the Albanian like an inappropriate human being to coexist with, often defeated however, refusing to accept it. Country less and wandering Slavs have seen Albanians as a huge hurdle on their quest for space expansion. This has often resulted on bloodshed were Slave have had the better of it most of the time sparing no means of killing Albanians including ethnic cleansing. At the beginning of the Balkan Independence Wars from Ottoman Empire on early 19th century, Greeks joined them too on the quest of space expansion. National conflicts became religious conflict as well, for Albanians being mainly Muslims. In order to justify their atrocities every Slavic and Greek Orthodox pretended that Albanians equalled Muslims. This article tries to analyse from the historical perspective, ethnic and religious cleansing of Albanians It focuses on Kosova since Congress of Berlin up to the War of Yugoslavia.
