A new unique work “Dictionary of Sociology”.

Abstract

Doing sociology means having dynamic spirit, to deal with social changes, developments of society, to try to understand, to interpret and describe the social level objectively.
And to do so it takes a theoretical apparatus consisting of basic nomenclature of this science, which is the foundation on which sociological edifice is to be build.
The work we have in hand has as its objective to assist the academic environment and Albanian culture in particular and the group of those individuals with this dictionary, offering a “sociological map” to ease the travel in the universe of this discipline so actual and quite pragmatic.
According to Macionis and Plummer “the sociological thinking feeds the social change.” The more we learn about the functioning of the “system”, the more the desire to change it for the good increases.
The author is driven to compile this dictionary by the lack of such a reference text in Albanian, by problems he has encountered at the time when he was a student and the ones faced by researchers and students in the area of acquisition of the basic terms of sociology, as well as by the need for an a different interpretation of sociological terminology, which in Albania, in many respects is still hostage to the classical forms of the past.
According to the author, he humbly writes that this dictionary is a modest effort to open avenues to enrich Albanian publications with another work and to encourage others to do the best in this field.
Scientific research, the compilation of dictionary’s entries of course in alphabetical order and it’s presentation as complete a work, unique in its kind, form a well-deserved success of researcher Ali Pajaziti, who keeps in mind the saying: “Wisdom is a treasure that is augmented by sharing it with others".
