The purpose of this research is to explore/observe the methodical approaches of the teachers that help the development of the soft skills (communication and critical thinking) of the students by the teacher during the elaboration of the teaching contents. Through the observation of the teaching, the analysis of the teaching-didactic materials, the practices, challenges and opportunities for the development of the students' skills have been investigated. Qualitative research approach was applied for data collection. Data were collected through observation as well as materials from lesson preparations. Qualitative data analysis is based on the methodology of Creswell (2007) and Richards (2009). The importance of the research is practical and theoretical. The results of the research offer recommendations and suggestions for the significant role of the teacher in the development of the basic skills of the students, but will also guide the direction for the possibility of building theory in future research of this nature. The research sample consists of twenty teachers, while the selection was intentional. The research results prove that the training of teachers for the development of soft skills of students has not given significant results.Keywords:
