Tajar Hatipi: "The stylist of all-Gegë-dialect"
Abstract
Tajar Hatipi was born in Elbasan in 1918. He was raised in a family of deep patriotic and education roots. After finishing Shkolla Normale, High School of Elbasan he responded to the call of Minister of Education, Ernest Koliqi, to go to Kosovo which was just liberated from the Yugoslav occupation, with the goal of educating his co-nationals.
He started working as an elementary teacher in Duhel village, while after the war was over he worked as Director of the Pedagogic Course in Prizren in 1945. He distinguished himself as a publicist.
His works are found in almost all Albanian language magazines and newspapers in Yugoslavia during the 40’-70’. Hatipi wrote regularly in “Jeta e re”,“Rilindja”, “Perparimi”, “Per prind”, “Pioneri”, “Fjala”, “Flaka e Vllazerimit”, “Kosovarja”, “BAT”, “Shkendija”, “Thumbi”, etj. He distinguished himself as a prose writer.
He is the author of a number of tales collections: “Rrethimi 1962”,”Buni 1963”, “Gjurmë Kohe 1968”, “U bëra trim 1973” and “Vrima thesi 1977”. He is the stylist of all-gege-dialect or stylist of Albanian literary language based in gege dialect. The Tajar Hatipi’s work called Buni, Prishtine 1963, is an example of all-gege-dialect national literature in prose. In Albanian literature this work is a novelty.
Tajar Hatipi work in the village Albanian language literature during the 40’-70’ is a contribution in our national culture. He died in Prishtina in 1977.
