Abstract

The book “Vdekje dhe dëbim” (Death and Eviction) identifies the factors that affected the bitter fate of Ottoman Muslims. In addition to the military and economic weakness of the Empire that was not able to defend its Muslim nations, another factor that influences was even the birth of nationalism in the Christian nations as well as the expansion of Russian Empire to the expulsion and death of Muslims of the Ottoman Empire.
The book of prof. McCarthy treats the history of the Ottoman Empire from the positions of Turks and other Muslims who suffered death and expulsion as a result of imperialism, nationalism and ethnic conflict.
