A short introduction of islamic philosophy

Abstract

Islamic philosophy to many non muslims, particularly those of orientalist, has been contested and denied its fundamental source. They generally consider Islamic philosophy a blind imitation of Greek philosophy. Its Muslim interpretation particularly, denying its source full contribution of Muslim philosophy.
However, serious and fundamental studies testify that Islamic philosophy is a subject on its own. It is an avoidable category and different from Greek philosophy. It founded Greek philosophy, borrowed from it what it could, rebuilds it and added new themes and new methodologies. Simply the Islamic philosophy personifies a solid universe with pure characteristics of a philosophy.
The impact of holy texts, Koran and Hadith, on the life's of Muslims didn’t stop the development of the philosophy. On the contrary, it has given it a religious base making it an authentic philosophy which includes time and space, themes and methods.
