My spiritual ties with orphans

Abstract

On this article is revealed a meditation about life aspect completely true of the author who has worked with orphans during his last career as a teacher on different levels. It all started with a phone call from the Director of National Institute of Orphans Ilir Çumani who invited him to cooperate.
He thought: My mother was on orphan since her mother had died while giving birth to her and her mother carried her name. She used to say: I don’t even know how my mothers eyes looked like. Nevertheless while in agony almost dying she held my hand even though had no power to open her eyes screaming Oh mother… under the voice.
My mother worked at the Orphanage of Shkodra. I believed that she did her job with full commitment better than anybody else in the world. We grew up and wanted her to retire but, she refused because she enjoyed living her life inside the innocente toddler’s world. Every Saturday we use to have one or two baby guests at the table including all national holidays. They enjoyed coming and sleeping with Mother Laja.
I was vice chairman at the pedagogy school teaching language and literature and I was responsible for the dormitory of 400 pupils. I had a call from chairman of the Education Board asking me to take care of the Shkodra Orphanage for 5-6 weeks because its chairman was on a sick leave. She had insisted that I go there due to my fair knowledge of childrens since they took lessons at “11 Janari” school which I was chairman.
Why me-I asked the chairman of the Education Board?
It is only for a week, on the request of Persa the chairwoman. She got it her way by knocking at the office of the chairman of the Party committee.
She was a war veteran, teacher of the excellence, short boddy but, high personality on Shkodra city.
So, I worked about two months experiencing first hand that institution. At the “Mesonjetorja XXI” school I had taken some orphan pupils free of charge, providing for them lessons, food and transport.
This article contains facts, experiences human sensibility of the work with orphans of kindergarden age and teen agers. The other has worked on all educational levels and over thirty years as a professor of pedagogy science at the STATE University of Tirana as well as other universities.
