Contemplation on the book “Ethno-pedagogical unfolding” by Prof. Dr. Shefik Osmani
Abstract
The work “Shpalosje Etnopedagogjike” (Ethno-pedagogical unfolds) represents the activity of over 30 renowned personalities.
The book, however, should not be seen with the eye of a 60, 70 or 80-year-olds, which have known or read about Albanian traditions.
Synthetically, some profiles are introduced in the Pedagogical Dictionary prepared by the Professor, which was published at the time when he was candidate of sciences (only with this work he could attain the deserved Ph.D.), but this work presents eminent personalities of the Albanian Education of the period between the ’30-ies until the middle of the last century with more specific activities and creativity.
These personalities, as a continuation of the first volume with the same title, are presented in a systematic order based on professional criteria.
Certainly, the large number of them, lets to be understood that everyone is treated in a synthesized manner with the aim to give concrete signs that in this country did not lack teachers and personalities of the Albanian school, with high scientific values, deeper pedagogical and psychological knowledge high linguistic, literary formation and feelings and deep progressive and fruitful passions for the generations that they have dealt with.
The author starts with M. Barleti, in two important areas of education: patriotic education and military education, continuing with P. Bogdani, also on two issues: “Të punuarit përpara letrarit”, (The working before mastering literary” - Guidelines to read correctly in the Albanian language. – “Shkallëzimi i moshave” (Escalation of age-groups) according to Bogdani, and – “Dy nga fıgurat e Cuneusit” (Two cahracters of Cuneus) that served as means of concretization) - Të marrët e Diellit (The madmen of Sun) - Të marrët e Hanesse (The madmena of Hanesse).
It is important here to point out that it is not biography of certain personalities, but it introduces information in the field of pedagogical studies and publications, which convinces the reader with arguments that many didactic, pedagogical, instructions problems etc., that have existed with time must be known, since they represent values in the Albanian pedagogical opinion.
